Common questions
Do I need an account?
No. openheim has no account. You need either an API key from an AI model provider, or access to an openheim server.
How do I add a model?
Open Settings → Providers, choose a provider (for example Anthropic, OpenAI or Gemini), paste your API key and save. For a self-hosted or other OpenAI-compatible model, add a custom provider with its base URL.
How do I connect to my own openheim server?
Run openheim serve on your computer or server, then add it in Settings → Connections with its address and access token. On iPhone, allow local network access when asked, so the app can reach servers on your network.
Why can't the agent run shell commands on my phone?
iOS and Android don't allow apps to start other programs, so shell commands and command-based MCP servers are turned off on mobile. Connect to an openheim server on your computer to give the agent a shell there.

On your device. See the privacy policy for details.
How do I delete my data?
Delete conversations in the app, or uninstall it to remove everything. There's no copy anywhere else.
